My experience at Angmering was fantastic, the service, location, facilities & just about everything - I will be back there in the near future.
The excellant service by staff, even when they had a wedding party to attend to.
Lovely stay, beautiful room, lovely garden and attentive staff!
As a grade 2 listed building the hotel is full of character with many interesting features and pleasant gardens
We did not receive the usual "welcome and have a nice stay, please let us know if there is anything you require during your stay..." If anything the staff were rather offhand and lacking in inter presonal skills. We asked for a blanket on two ocasions instead of the duvet but this did not appear. However the evening meal that we had was very enjoyable even if there was a scarcity of vegetables and the Gressingham duck sausage that was listed on the menu failed to put in an appearance on the plate. When questioned the waiter said that it was a typing error! Even though we had a large flat screen tv in our room this was situated in a narrow space at the bottom of the bed which made it very difficult to get around the bed.
The staff were very pleasant and attentive, the restaurant was very good for both dinner & breakfast.
In our room the size of the drawers was too small for most clothing other than underwear.
Interesting, cornery building full of strange twists and turns, staircases, corners etc. More than adequate pool and sauna. Not difficult to turn it on - and hot within minutes!
Only one vegetarian option (goat's cheese not likely to be a hit with vegetarian children) and no willingness to prepare anything else. We walked. And for carnivores like me, one rasher of bacon at breakfast! Come on.
Friendly, helpful staff. Excellent food. Lovely room with comfortable bed.
Bathroom a little 'tired'. No milk in room on first night so unable to make early morning cuppa. Toiletries not replenished for the second night.
Lovely old building, well looked after. Friendly staff, we enjoyed very much the dinner we had and thought it was fair value for the quality. The hotel got all the main details right.
There were just a few small things that stopped the hotel from being excellent; In our room there was no plug socket for the kettle, unless the kettle was moved away from the tea making station. Perceptiveness; Our room was naturally warm, we took off the heavy duvet coverand put it in a cupboard, when the maid came she put it back on the bed, so we had to take it off again. Breakfast on the 2nd day was noticably different to the first in terms of size and quantity, it felt like the hotel was running low on supplies.
The whole ambience of the hotel is welcoming, with a homely atmosphere and convenient location for car users, whilst the local village has a reasonable range of facilities and good opportunities for walks
A lovely sized hotel with the rare thing of a swimming pool
No food menu or bar snacks for children. As a consequence we couldn't eat at the hotel.
Very friendly staff. Comfy room. Very pleasant, relaxed atmosphere.
The restaurant waiting staff could do with a little more practice. Several tables waited for some time and had to ask to order - this was the case both at dinner and at breakfast. It was only a minor irritant.
Welcoming, comfortable, excellent dinner and a good relaxed evening following a house move.
Polite Staff and Efficient with a Good Level of Service. Food was Good and well served. Atmosphere was comfortable and we were thankful that there was none of this Snobish Nonsence that is sometimes portrayed by these type and styles of Hotel. Facilities proved to be what we expected.
Our Room. Very badly needs Air Con. It was overly Hot and though they provided Fans on both Bedside Tables, Air Con is very much needed.
great room and the food is way above average for this sort of hotel.
the only thing that isnt good is the internet service, which if your on business or doing any local area research is not usable. I dont believe this is the hotels fault though as the wifi infrastuture works well, but the performance is like dial up.
The staff were superb, creating a very relaxed and enjoyable stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The swimming pool was a delight . The gardens were a peaceful haven, well laid out with a small waterfall and pond, and a terrace that was very welcome on a hot day.The dining room was informal, light and airy, and the food well prepared and presented.
The maintenance of the bedroom left a lot to be desired. Four of ten light bulbs in the bathroom not working - very dark at night. Toilet seat hanging off and dangerous. No hot water to bath, and cold only a trickle. (Shower worked well). No towels at pool, so had to use room towels. For us the breakfast menu was very limited.
